Updating templates in dreamweaver
I am frequently changing code in a Dreamweaver template, and every time I do so, the "Update Template Files" dialog box appears, followed by the "Update Pages" dialog box which I have to manually close.
Is there any way to have my inheriting HTML documents automatically update, without having to deal with the 2 dialog boxes, every time I save the Template? NET in Visual Studio, which only requires a quick save, and a reload on the browser.
I've tried going into Modify | Templates | Apply, but no templates are listed.
I have a file in the path so why isn't it picking it up?? Once Dreamweaver "sees" the Template properly you then need to make sure that the proper code is present in the child HTML files so Dreamweaver knows which files to update via the template.
But what do you do when the template itself was developed with outdated code and the site needs a complete design overhaul?
How do you fix it without having to cut and paste the content from every existing page to a newly designed one?
by Christopher Heng, Nearly all websites have more than one page.
Editing the called include file and saving it will update all pages that use that file.
Often these sites have outdated code or are badly in need of an upgrade.
